Heat Pumps (Ground source & air source)
Heat pumps provide a more energy-efficient way to heat your home or business than a standard gas heating system. You can choose two different types of heat pumps for your building: an air source heat pump and a ground source heat pump.
Air Source Heat Pumps
An air-source heat pump works similarly to a refrigerator and air conditioner because it depends on a refrigerant to change the temperature of the air. The only difference is that a heat pump extracts fresh air from refrigerant-containing tubes and produces a warm gas as the refrigerant becomes warmer. The warm gas travels through the different air ducts of the building and comes out into the rooms to warm them up.
Ground Source Heat Pumps
A ground source heat pump extracts natural heat from below the earth’s surface by circulating water or another heat-conveying liquid through a series of underground pipes. After that, the heated liquid passes through a heat exchanger and turns into heated air. Lastly, the heated air gets distributed to various rooms through the ventilation system of your building.
